Ethiopia civil war: Why the capture of Shire in Tigray is so important

Recent captures by Ethiopia's military, of key towns in Tigray, come at an important moment during the two-year civil war.

But it is the capture of the strategic city of Shire which has come as a significant blow to the Tigrayan forces.
