Home/News and Events/Mozambique: Country Manager Pietro Toigo explains how a poultry project will benefit people in the Zambezia province
During a visit to the Zambezia province in central Mozambique, from 4 to 6 August 2021, Pietro Toigo, the Bank’s Country Manager in Mozambique, gave an interview to the TVM news channel and discussed the Bank’s Job Creation and Livelihood Improvement Project.
The project will develop entrepreneurship in the poultry value chain, including infrastructure for poultry feed processing and training for small-scale producers. It will also help to implement labour, education and training reforms in the industry.
The project was implemented from January 2016 through an African Development Fund grant of UA 4.53 million and an in-kind counterpart contribution estimated at UA 2.47 million from the government of Mozambique.
