I want to get back into Age of Empires 4. Can you install it? Downloading now. We want to recap of where you left off. Sure. OK, I've got some wood from a tree. What do I do with that? Craft the oak logs into wooden planks by opening your inventory and placing logs in the crafting area. What's the best way to take out the beast? Want me to pull up a quick strategy guide? Let's do it.
I actually used IA recently to help me with something similar these days. I was playing Suikoden 2 and was kind of lost as old games tend to have you. I didn't want to look for a walkthrough or sit through Youtube to figure out what I was missing. What did I do? Told Copilot where I was and to hint me as to what I was missing. It actually made a quite smart remark and to my surprise, it was pretty on point. Didn't spoil the solution, thus the experience, and it was framed not as a meta tip, but something I should be thinking of as a character inside the story. This is a great step-up on older and complex games. Imagine having it as a journal as old manuals used to have? Just awesome!
With AI assistance backed into gaming, what I personally feel is gaming will not remain the same as it used to be till now. For example, the achievement of progression within the game, concurring the deadly bosses, and most importantly, cognitive thinking that gets developed by solving tricky puzzles yourself has always been the most rewarding experience for the Gamers till now. With AI Assistance at the fingertip of the Gamers, there will always be an urge to quick jump to solutions without even retrying. I am not against the AI usage in Gaming, infact it has been already been used in many areas like auto image upscaling, resource optimizations etc..
Why don't you start to provide an auto-aiming in shooters? Oh, cause it's called a cheating. What else these developers, priced at $500k per year, are wasting time for?
Copilot for Gaming marks a tangible stride toward digital companions with 𝐉𝐀𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐒-like qualities, rooted in its real-time, context-aware assistance and player-driven design. The system’s ability to process game states and deliver precise spoken guidance like "here's an optimal hero pick in Overwatch 2 based on team composition" shows a sophisticated blend of NLP and game telemetry. Its mobile debut next month leverages edge computing to keep latency low, a critical factor for responsive companions. What’s striking is the player feedback loop via the Insider Program, ensuring this AI evolves with user needs, a hallmark of adaptive systems. While it’s not yet a holographic interface, the groundwork here — personalization, seamless integration, and task-specific intelligence — mirrors the foundational traits of iconic digital replicas. We’re not at JARVIS’s full autonomy yet, but this is a measurable leap closer, especially in gaming’s interactive sandbox. What do you say Peter H. Diamandis?
Satya Nadella, Mustafa Suleyman, this announcement is exciting! 💡 The concept of Copilot enriching gameplay, understanding context, and providing real-time, personalized hints and analytics is already a huge step forward. However, I believe an even more groundbreaking opportunity lies in reversing the flow - allowing Copilot to proactively inject enhancements back into the gameplay. In this vision, games would provide entry points/APIs for Copilot to dynamically adjust scenarios, NPC behaviors, quests, and narratives based on real-time player data. This bi-directional integration, although ambitious, could lead to a powerful decentralized AI approach - a kind of "external brain" for games delivered by Copilot. Microsoft could then establish a new platform standard, empowering developers to create more engaging, adaptable, and deeply personalized gaming experiences. Excited to see where this #AI journey leads! 🤩
Copilot for Gaming is a game-changer. It’s not just about playing, but leveling up faster. Real-time coaching, seamless re-engagement, and a more personalized experience? The future of gaming is here, and it’s designed for you.
